Of Computers and Epic Burgers

I think I'll let Sam wax nostalgic about the buffalo burger he had at the Red Arrow Diner this afternoon for lunch. :) He highly enjoyed it.

Today I woke up a bit late, at 8, had a bath and rushed about to get dressed and fix some cereal. I met Sam at 9, we cashed my paycheck and had breakfast at Dunkin Donuts. I had a croissant with strawberry jelly and a Milky Way hot chocolate, Sam had coffee (!!!) and a bacon, ham and egg sandwich on a bagel. We hopped the bus to the mall and had a browse around the shops. I brought a webcam, vitamins, chocolate from Lindt (Peruvian chocolate and milk chocolate with sea salt) and a DVD for Sam. >_< I feel uncomfortable in lingerie stores for that reason, because it's all the commercialization of women, like I'm still some sort of chattel and thing to be used for easy sex. Blegh, blegh, blegh. We also had a browse at Spencer's. Think of it more like an adult joke shop, with rainbow cock pops and vibrators and beer bongs. All the tasteless things you can imagine jammed into one place.

We hopped the bus back to the hotel, dropped off Sam's stuff and walked up to the diner for a very late lunch. After lunch we went back to my house where Mum asked us to look at the desktop to figure out what was wrong with it. An hour later, with the computer in bits across the sunroom floor being vacuumed, reassembled and everything checked and double checked again and many cracks about how shitty the computer was, Sam basically pronounced the thing dead and said there was nothing he could do. Dad was a bit harder to convince until I said it would cost more to fix it than to buy a new computer. So sometime this week, we will have a new computer. Maybe a Mac, on which Sam will have to train all of us. (I get the feeling that my parents are a bit too computer illiterate for one, though...but it would be near idiot proof and I think they might need that. I wouldn't have to worry about maintaining the thing, which is something I despise. My mother can make my blood pressure go from normal to boiling in under a nanosecond).

We watched the end of Casino Royale (Bond's bollocks being crushed was nothing as bad as I imagined) and the whole of Chocolat. ^_^ Sam fiddled with my computer and got back everything that was eaten a while back, like the volume control button and some of the games and system restore and calculator and paint. Yay!

^_^ Tomorrow we're going to have breakfast out and then I don't know what until 4 when I go back to work. Bleh.
