Peking Garden for lunch, it was so good - except the soup seemed a bit off, but never mind. As with all buffets, I wanted to eat more, but I couldn't - I couldn't even finish my (second) plate! haha!
Anyways, after that we went to Castro's Backroom, which I can only describe as a smoker's den. sofas and tvs all set up so you can light up, it was intimidating to say the least. I went in there to get mum a cigar or two as a gift of something different - I asked the owner what he recommended as well as traveling advice for cigars - I picked out 4 cigars, paid for them and we got out before the smell could cling to us, ick! Everything in there was nicotine stained and hazy, except the cigars which were in a special conditioned room.
After that, we rushed back to the hotel to drop off the cigars as well as grab my DS and the rosaries as Myriam wants to restring them. We then rushed back to her house and I prepared for the long 5 hours alone (well, I felt alone - if that makes sense) First we dropped Myriam off at work and I grabbed some more vitamin water, jellybeans for ted (I'll grab some more sweets for him next week), and some white chocolate and fudge covered pretzels for myself - getting 'family' discount, hehe!
We headed back and I looked at Myriam's computer again, tried to do a driver/application restore - but the archive is damaged so that's a no go - we're going to look for a cheapass webcam tomorrow from BestBuy! Dinner was from Papa Gino's, I had the Meatball and penne pasta and Myriam's dad also bought a 'meat platter' pizza too (as well as a regular cheese) so I had a slice of that. Myriam's dad then asked me to 'make the DVD work' so we could watch the end of Casino Royale. I felt more comfortable after watching the torture scene, as we were both cringing at the thought of it, is that weird?
Anyway, we watched NCIS and then House started so Myriam's dad darted off to collect her from work. We watched the rest of House and a bit of Monk then it was time for me to head back to the hotel - I have HBO on at the moment and Gladiator is on, I also have some slices of the meat platter pizza, thanks to Myriam's mum.
I know this sounds weird, but I'm happy here, yet I'm also happy back home too - I prefer home as it's familiar and I find it an easier place to live - but I like it here because of how different it is. I'm just enjoying the moments as they come - that's probably why I have less than $200 left for this week, hmm? haha!
